What I have been thinking about............

Just some thoughts on Martin Luther King. Did you know that he was only thirty nine years old when he died? Yet he inspired so many people to commit to a better way of life. Amazing. It is sad to think that he never lived to see his dream coming true.

If Barack Obama accomplishes nothing else, he has brought to the forefront Martin Luther King's dream and removed every black Americans' excuse not to succeed.

He once said in an interview (and the quote is not exact) We no longer have a choice between violence and nonviolence but a choice between violence and nonexistence.

I think this is truer today than ever.

A quick search on Amazon.com brings up several biographies of the man.
I think I need to read something that will inspire me.

What I have been buying..........

I bought a great little item a few weeks ago. They are Debbie Meyer's Green Bags for storing fruits and vegetables. They actually do an amazing job of keeping these items fresh. I have strawberries I purchased at Costco three weeks ago that still look and taste like the day I bought them. I have started putting all my produce in these bags and I haven't thrown out a rotted veggie since. I bought mine at Canadian Tire.

What I know for sure...........

One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to let go of the chaos in our lives. Most of it is self-inflicted(deadlines we set for ourselves, things we procrastinate about, worry that we use to punish ourselves etc.) Nothing ever happens quicker or more effectively if we try to accomplish it from a state of panic or anxiety. Few things in life require this reaction. If you or someone you love is not bleeding or on fire-lose the chaos.

In Conclusion..........

This is my first attempt at blogging. I think I quite like it. I hope someone reads it and says Hmmm, interesting.
